The fifth edition of MIRA - Live Visual Arts Festival, to be held at different venues in the city of Barcelona during October and November, publishes the VISUAL OPEN CALL.Until June 6th, visual artists -individual and collective- who want to present their projects at the festival can send their proposals.
The VISUAL OPEN CALL, which last year received over 263 proposals from 37 countries, is focused on the visual creation. Through it, MIRA promotes meetings between artists and its audience, displaying cutting-edge ideas and creative dialogues among the emerging disciplines of audiovisual creation.
New features of the VISUAL OPEN CALL 2015
This year edition visual artists can decide multiple venues where to exhibit their projects. Besides the usual location at Fabra i Coats, two other venues are suitable to develop visual projects: Arts Santa Mònica and Razzmatazz.
The artists and groups participating in the call may choose between one or more venues and perform them during MIRA 2015.
Which projects are eligible for the VISUAL OPEN CALL?
3 artistic categories are set:
Installations: contemplative or interactive installation that can be place at any of the available venues.
Visual Art / VJ Set: VJing performances or club focused shows collaborating with musicians who are part of the Festival line up.
Audiovisual Performances (AV Shows): scenic shows and artistic performances employing multidisciplinary visual arts and technology as a thread.
Selected project will be chosen by professionals in the visual art field and members of MIRA organization. Innovation and originality of the proposals will be highly valued. Selected projects will become part of MIRA 2015 line up.
