Online Exhibition: Contra-Invention | MOCKSIM

Body:

Contra-Invention is an exhibition of the photographs Traffic Wardens (correctly termed Civil Enforcement Officers and amusingly abbreviated to CEOs) take in one British town as proof of unlawful parking there. The artist discovered that these images, of other people’s illegally parked cars, were easy to obtain and download from the local council’s system. Note: since the project in 2010 the system has been changed: art has an impact!

Online Exhibition: Draussen vor der Tür | WOLF D. SCHREIBER

Body:

Untitled_HDR

2011

In this series of works, I used HDR (high dynamic range) technique to create a single image that contains the optimal data of all the photographs that I scanned.

I chose the artwork of the most known masters of western photography because I wanted to explore their influence on the medium of photography, especially in the digital era we are facing today.

Online Exhibition: CASS | ANDRÉ HEMER

Body:

"Sampling freely from conventional and new media sources, and adding his own interpretations to the mix, Hemer emphasises the sense of separation these endlessly multiplied facsimiles create, relating it to the physical inaccessibility of Cass itself, currently stored within the earthquake-closed Christchurch Art Gallery building."[1]
