International Video Festival DIGITALBIGSCREEN 2016
Trbovlje New-Media City (TNM) –a call to video artists

The digitalization in cinematography is finally finished in Slovenia. It enables presentation of new contents in a cinema theatre; amongst them also the video and all its derivatives/variations like video document or video performance. Until now video artists have been tied to TV or LCD screens, or screenings on smaller formats. Technical possibilities have therefore been a limiting factor. The international video festival Digitalbigscreen offers the visual artists engaged in video production the possibility to have their works shown on a big cinema screen.
Compilation of selected videos will be also offered to Art Cinema Network of Slovenia (AKMS) to present as a part of their art cinema program.
Herewith we address the interested video artists to submit their works to our open call DIGITALBIGSCREEN 2016 of the following general conditions:
- no limitation of topic
- maximum length 10 mins
- horizontal format (16:9)
- 720p / HD (preferred) resolution
- year of production: 2014, 2015, 2016
- maximum three works per author
Deadline: Send your works on DVD / USB (non-returnable) by the 1st July 2016 (date of postal stamp) to the address below:

The works of twelve authors will be selected and shown on the big screen of the cinema theatre at our Delavski dom Trbovlje, with the capacity of 360 viewers, screen format 5x8 metres. From amongst the received works a jury of experts shall select three works whose authors will receive monetary prizes.
Within the festival a catalogue presenting all the prize winning and selected authors will be published.
Due to the fact that the new international video festival Digitalbigscreen is part of the Art Cinema network, and the collaboration with the Europa Cinema organization, all the production presented at the festival will be as the first from Slovenia accessible as part of the Art Cinemas contents in Europe and the rest of the world.
