Delfina Foundation (DF) is inviting visual artists, curators, performance artists and other cultural practitioners to apply for our thematic programmePerformance as Process in spring 2016.

In winter 2015, our first iteration of Performance as Process brought together 12 participants, from choreographers to curators, for residencies, research and events related to performance and the production of cultural knowledge. The programme was wide-ranging exploring performance on stage, in the white-cube and in the everyday, daily routines to religious rituals.

Our second stage of Performance as Process will look closely at the creative process itself and the journey from idea to outcome. We are seeking applications from practitioners with research that is already in progress, who are interested in an opportunity to develop their ideas further, preferably to fruition.

By creating a focussed environment, DF aims to facilitate collaborative exchange fostering new ideas and projects. During the residency, DF will support peer-to-peer conversations between residents through a series of informal gatherings and meals, as well as targeted organisational visits and opportunities to engage with artists, academics and researchers interested in the areas of focus. These internal events will be complemented with an external public programme of talks, screenings, dinners and panel discussions presenting the work, ideas and exchanges taking place.
