Open Call: Artist portfolio review | NODE CENTER
Submissions open all year round
Node focuses on the development of curatorial practices. We believe in the importance of bringing together artist and curator and consider this confluence to be a fundamental asset on the creation of substantial artistic work today.
Every week, Node opens its doors to artists living or temporary residing in Berlin, in order to host portfolios reviews by our resident curators. The selected portfolios will be included in an archive that will be open to the public and that will serve as the basis for organizing exhibitions and talks.
We believe that it is crucial that artists engage in a constant dialogue and actively participate with the curator in the early stages of the exhibition process, in order for both visions to be confronted. This discussion broadens the focus for both artists and curators, and enriches the exhibition process.
Artists that are selected to be part of the archive will be able to:
- Participate in the monthly event “15 Minutes of Fame”, in which selected artists present works that are aligned with one of the key topics being discussed at Node.
- Take part in experimental exhibitions generated by Node Center.
